Professional Statement
I’m a clinical social worker at Hope Ave Therapy working with adolescents, college students, young adults and adults. I believe that the relationship between client and therapist is integral to the work, and I try to create a warm and safe space for each client. I enjoy helping clients connect to their different parts, strengths and relationships to better understand and help themselves. I also utilize cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients build a “toolkit” of coping skills when working through feelings of anxiety and depression.
I have worked in various settings with college students for 15 years. Most recently, I have worked as a therapist in a college counseling center at Brandeis University and Simmons College. At Boston College, I assisted students with disabilities and mental health diagnoses to seek medical accommodations. I also supported adults with mental health diagnoses at Fellside, a transitional therapeutic community in Medford. I received a Masters in Social Work from Boston College, a Masters of Secondary English Education from Rutgers University, and a Bachelor’s in English from Douglass College, Rutgers University.
I enjoy drinking coffee and tea in big mugs, visiting National Parks during my time off, talking in cute voices to my cats, and watching historical drama TV shows.
