Professional Statement
I am a clinical social work student in my second year of the Master of Social Work program at Boston University. My specialization is in trauma, violence, and justice. I received my bachelor's degree in sociology with a minor in human development and family studies at the University of Vermont. My experience includes case management, working with adults and their families, and working with children in an educational setting. I have worked at non-profit organizations and in schools.
My work has included supporting adult individuals and families who have been unhoused, and who may have faced anxiety, depression, trauma, intimate partner violence, and major life changes. I have also worked with children who may have faced learning disabilities and social anxiety.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a partnership. It is important to have a safe, non-judgemental space, where the client feels comfortable. My approach is client-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed, with the use of the liberation health model, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, going to concerts, and spending time with friends.
