Professional Statement
I am a current fourth year student at William James College in Newton, working towards a Doctorate of Psychology. My approach to therapy is relationally and psychodynamically oriented, providing care that is client-centered and strengths-based. My aim is to create a space that is safe, accessible, and healing.
In the therapeutic space, a client can expect their voice and experience to be the guide to care, with a focus on collaboration, fostering connection, and establishing holistic well-being. The path of treatment will be developed together to ensure it is individualized and best suited to meet client needs. I have experience working with ages throughout the lifespan, from children to older adults. Additionally, as a member of the queer community and through specialized education and training, I have experience providing care related to LGBTQIA2-S+ minority-stress, sexual and gender identity development and integration, and best-practice identity-affirming care. I have provided treatment for mood disorders, anxiety, identity-related concerns, trauma-related disorders, suicidality and self-harm, grief and loss, ADHD, disordered eating, and substance misuse.
I earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Hispanic Studies from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon and have a Masters in Professional Psychology from William James College. I have trained at CODAC Behavioral Health, providing counseling alongside medication-assisted treatment for Opioid Use Disorders. Additionally, I have trained at You Inc., a community mental healthcare clinic, working with children and families in outpatient mental health care and at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, providing care to college and graduate-level students.
In my free time, I enjoy running (I know, I can hardly believe I just wrote that, too), watercolor painting, and spending time with my black cat, Nyx.
