Professional Statement

I am a licensed clinical social worker at Hope Ave Therapy working predominantly with young adults, adults, and couples. My specialization includes anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, and relationship issues. My therapeutic style can be described as warm, collaborative, and compassionate. I work with clients to develop a trusting therapeutic relationship that allows them to gain deeper insight about how prior experiences have shaped their emotional life, relationships, and behavior. The foundation of my therapeutic work is based on a psychodynamic and relational approach, and incorporates evidence-based treatments including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

After earning my Bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University, I worked as a special education high school teacher for students with emotional disabilities in Baltimore, MD and completed a Master’s degree in Education from Johns Hopkins University. I completed my Master’s in Social Work at Boston College, specializing in Clinical Mental Health. My experience in the mental health field includes five years working with individuals struggling with eating disorders and comorbid mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-injurious behaviors, suicidality, mood disorders, and personality disorders. My background  in the eating disorder field includes experience working at the residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient levels of care. In addition to my role at Hope Ave, I am currently pursuing advanced post-graduate training as a fellow in psychodynamic adult and couple therapy through the Psychotherapy Institute of Back Bay (PIBB)

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, running, and cooking.
