Professional Statement
I am a counselor for children, teenagers, college students and adults. I received my master’s in education, specialization in school psychology, and educational psychologist supervision from Tufts University.
School-aged youth face a never ending stream of competing pressures and demands from their environments and from their own minds. Self-reflection, healthy living, and even basic kindness can take a backseat when homework, extracurriculars, and social media feel like urgent and oppressive priorities. In my work, I encourage youth to consider neutrality, consider quiet time, and consider balance. Sometimes reaching out of your comfort zone means pausing and breathing rather than acting. My office is a space free from expectations. It is a place where children and teenagers can experiment with who they are, experience the luxury of thinking before they speak, notice and express their feelings without judgment, and consider new ways of engaging with the world.
Your child has everything it takes to grow beyond their self-perceived limitations. Through therapy, children start making healthy choices not because they have to, not because they’re told to, not out of avoidance or fear, but because they know they can and because it feels like the right time.
Outside of work I love to paint, read on the porch, play with my cat, and spend time with family and friends.
